I learned that the past was completely different than now and it was a lot harder in the olden days. Aletisandra

The Guildhall was a court.     Billy

The Normans took over from the Anglo-Saxons. Flint came from Norfolk. Caen stone is from France.    Lily

You have to trade to get into the Castle walls. Poor people wore tunics and rich people would wear expensive clothes.    Ellie

I learnt that tailors made lots of clothes. there has been a market place in Norwich since c924. Norwich Castle was built in 1067.    Harry

I learnt what some phrases meant in old times and if you have a surname (e.g. Baker) in the old period you probably would have had an ancestor who was a baker.    Ella

Norwich Cathedral was made out of Caen stone from France.    Kieran

I did not know everyone had to go to church. I did not know that a lot of buildings were made of flint. I did not know the castle was made by the Normans.    Max

Norwich had it's own money since c930.    Charlie

They [the local people] traded by Norwich's river. Your last name links to what your ancestors did.    Elizabeth

The river was so important, even in those days.    Archie

I learnt that if you didn't go to church you would be punished.    Jordon

I had never walked round and I didn't know there were so many medieval buildings.    Preston

They had to pay taxes to sell goods at the market. The main trade [in Norwich] was wool. The jobs are carpenters, blacksmiths, bakers, butchers. there were.    Sophie

Medieval is a period in time and mystery meant jobs or trade.    Violet
