In July 2018 we presented fourteen mystery plays in two parts in two unique medieval locations, Norwich Castle Keep and Norwich Cathedral Cloisters.
The Plays for 2018 The production featured an adaptation of the only surviving recorded mystery play from Norwich, The Grocer's Play - The Fall of Man, a new telling of the story of David and Goliath - a nod to the wonderful roof boss at Norwich Cathedral and several stories adapted from the N-Town manuscript, believed by scholars to belong to East Anglia. Find out more... Community Cast Just as the plays would have been presented centuries ago, members of the local community played the majority of the roles, supported by a small team of professionals. Schools Programme This year we launched our first schools programme, working with 240 young people in local schools, to provide opportunities to learn about Norwich's medieval past and the tradition of presenting mystery plays. The Schools Programme has been funded through The National Lottery from the Heritage Lottery Fund and by Anguish's Educational Foundation. Find out more...
