Peter and Gavin from Norwich Medieval Mystery Plays came into our school to tell us about the project. We learnt about the medieval period and what Norwich was like. The medieval period is after the Romans and before the Tudor period. Norwich was invaded by the Normans after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. They built a Castle in the city in 1067 and put it on a big mound that was hand built. They moved the market place to below the Castle so that they could keep an eye on the Anglo-Saxons and make sure they didn't misbehave. We looked at lots of pictures about what they wore, the houses they lived in, what they built their houses from, what jobs they had and what they used to sell at the market. Group 1
